He has been involved in the world of art for almost his entire life. In Kraków, he completed music school, a secondary school of fine arts, and higher education studies, including at the Academy of Fine Arts. He honed his guitar-making skills in Vienna under the guidance of Leszek Gajdzik and, occasionally, Nupi Jenner. After three years of working in guitar construction, he returned to Poland and decided to open his own workshop near Kraków.
Many soloists and chamber musicians perform on his guitars, including Cordanza Duo and Cracow Guitar Quartet.
Students at music academies, as well as pupils at music schools, regularly win international competitions playing Rafał’s guitars. Notable examples include Maria Korzeniowska, who won the title of Internet Guitar World Champion in 2016; Felice Guitar Quartet, which won first prize in the ensemble category at the 2018 Guitar Foundation of America competition in the United States; and Dudziak & Wójcik Duo.
From 2018, the guitars he crafted were also played by Tatiana Stachak, Poland’s most renowned composer of guitar music, and, since 2025, by Franciszek Wieczorek, editor-in-chief of Sześć Strun Świata, Poland’s leading periodical for classical guitarists.
Rafał Gajdzik is also a lecturer and partner of some of Europe’s most prominent guitar festivals and conferences, including the Summer Guitar Festival and Forum Gitarre Wien. This year, he is also participating in the Śląska Jesień Gitarowa (Silesian Guitar Autumn Festival).
His guitars are played on three continents: Europe, North America, as mentioned above, and Asia.
