From 1993 to 1999, he attended the George Philipp Telemann 1st Degree State Music School in Żary. He continued his education from 1999 to 2005 at the Mieczysław Karłowicz 2nd Degree State Music School in Zielona Góra. In 2006, the musician began his studies at the University of Zielona Góra, majoring in Jazz and Stage Music. In 2011, he completed his Master’s degree at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław in the piano class of Piotr Kałużny. Since 2012, he has worked as a lecturer in the Jazz and Stage Music department at the University of Zielona Góra. For several years, he has collaborated with the Big-Band of the University of Zielona Góra, with whom he has accompanied musicians such as Beata Bednarz, Brian Fentress, Andrzej Dąbrowski, Ewa Uryga, Jarosław Śmietana, Piotr Baron, Urszula Dudziak, Krzysztof Kiljański, Wojciech Myrczek, Ida Zalewska, and the band Bibobit. He is a member of the group Yes4Jazz, previously known as the Hard Work Ensemble. The pianist also collaborates with Mate, a band formed in 2006 that performs its own music inspired by reggae, ska, jazz, and folk sounds. For the past 4 years, he has been playing with the band Good Morning Blues, with whom he has appeared at many blues music festivals, and in 2015, he recorded an album featuring the band’s original material.
Wojciech Pruszyński is known for his broad musical interests—besides jazz, he draws inspiration from reggae, ska, blues, and folk music. He performs both as a leader of his own projects and as a session musician, recording original albums and participating in numerous concert and educational endeavors. Critics and concert organizers highlight his versatility, harmonic sensitivity, and ability to blend different musical styles.
