Pełech & Horna Duo feat. Wojtek Pruszyński // Joscho Stephan Trio
Spanish, Latin American, film music, classical, and jazz – such will be the first part of the concert at the Tychy Mediateka. Krzysztof Pełech & Horna Duo will take us into the world of these sounds. This is a classical guitar duo specializing in performing original arrangements in the styles of samba, tango, Latin-Spanish, and jazz, improvised atmospheres. It is a richness of beautiful melodies, harmonies, and rhythm. The ensemble’s program includes, among others, well-known compositions by Ralph Towner, Keith Jarrett, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, and Astor Piazzolla. Their debut album Sambalanco was nominated for the Wrocław Music Award. The disc features compositions by creators such as Ulisses Rocha, Celso Machado, Pat Metheny, Ralph Towner, Astor Piazzolla, and others. The album represents a combination of original arrangements in the styles of samba, bossa nova, tango, and improvised smooth-jazz atmospheres.
The festival stage of the Mediateka in Part II of the concert will be filled by the Joscho Stephan Trio, which belongs today to the most interesting formations on the acoustic guitar scene. The trio consists of: Joscho Stephan – one of the most outstanding contemporary gypsy-jazz guitarists, Volker Kamp on double bass, and Sven Jungbeck on rhythm guitar. The artists delight audiences not only with their performance perfection but also with their stage charisma and extraordinary communication with the public. The concert featuring the Paris – Berlin program will be a unique evening filled with the energy of gypsy swing, jazz virtuosity, and the atmosphere of the musical salons of the 1930s. Inspired by the legendary sound of Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli’s Hot Club de France, the ensemble creates its own modern musical language, combining the swing tradition with improvisation, humor, and remarkable stage freedom. The program guides listeners through two musical worlds – elegant, nostalgic Paris of the gypsy-jazz era and cabaret-charmed Berlin. Alongside original compositions by Joscho Stephan, such as Train to Paris, Valse de la Mer, or the final Wes Berlin, there will also be swing classics and jazz standards reinterpreted with extraordinary lightness and virtuosity. This is a concert for lovers of jazz, guitar, and music full of elegance, rhythm, and spontaneous improvisation – an evening that will transport the audience into the world of Parisian swing clubs and Berlin cabaret stages.
