During the concert, the guitar concerto Ink Dark Moon by Joby Talbot will be presented to the audience. The composition is featured on the list of the most important works of the guitar repertoire of the last decade. Its premiere in 2018 during the famous London Proms Festival echoed widely throughout the musical world. A unique characteristic of this piece is the blending of two worlds – the world of classical music and film music. This combination is characterized by an exceptionally high artistic level while simultaneously producing an effect of accessibility.
Mateusz Kowalski is one of the most outstanding guitarists of the young generation, described by “Classical Guitar Magazine” as a spectacular musician who performs a vast repertoire from the Renaissance to contemporary times with extraordinary expertise, a sense of style, and great musical culture.
