Kyuhee brings excitement and beauty to every note she plays. Her extraordinary precision of play makes the music shine, and she is able to share the joy of making music with the listeners. – David Russell

This is how Part I of the concert promises to be, during which one of the most outstanding classical guitarists of her generation will perform, winner of the 1st prize at the XV Jan Edmund Jurkowski International Guitar Competition in Tychy in 2014. Her interpretations are valued particularly for their depth of expression and an exceptionally subtle tremolo technique. Kyuhee Park’s recital will be a unique encounter with the classical guitar in its most subtle, emotionally charged, and virtuoso dimension. The artist, recognized as one of the finest guitarists of her generation, captivates audiences with her extraordinary musicality, flawless technique, and exceptional refinement of sound.

The concert program will combine the elegance of classicism with the colorful world of Spanish music. In Kyuhee Park’s interpretation, we will hear, among others, the striking Variations on the theme Deh! Calma oh Ciel by Mauro Giuliani – a virtuoso piece inspired by Gioachino Rossini’s opera Otello, which stands as one of the most beautiful examples of guitar music from the Classical era.

The program will also feature compositions by Isaac Albéniz – Capricho Catalán and the famous Cordoba – pieces full of southern color, melancholy, and characteristic Spanish expression. In the interpretation of the Korean artist, this music acquires an exceptional subtlety and poetic expression, revealing the extraordinary sonic richness of the classical guitar.

Kyuhee Park’s concert is an evening full of musical elegance, emotion, and masterful interpretation – an offering both for lovers of the classical guitar repertoire and for listeners seeking unique artistic experiences.

In Part II of the concert, we will hear the Two Brothers concert by the duo of Chico Pinheiro and Romero Lubambo. This is a unique meeting of two masters of the Brazilian guitar, who combine in their playing the tradition of bossa nova, the popular music of Brazil, and the language of contemporary jazz. The artists, belonging to different generations, together create a musical narrative based on dialogue, improvisation, and an extraordinary sensitivity to sound.

The concert program includes pieces drawn from the rich tradition of Brazilian music, as well as original interpretations in which the guitar becomes a fully-fledged narrator of emotion and rhythm. The subtlety of bossa nova, the harmonic finesse, and the pulsating energy of samba meet here with jazz freedom and the masterful technique of both artists. Romero Lubambo, who has lived in the United States for years, has collaborated with a whole galaxy of jazz, Brazilian, and classical music stars such as Astrud Gilberto, Dianne Reeves, Billie Eilish, Michael Brecker, Yo-Yo Ma, Kathleen Battle, Diana Krall, Herbie Mann, Wynton Marsalis, Gal Costa, Luciana Souza, Sergio and Odair Assad, Flora Purim and Airto, Paquito D’Rivera, Harry Belafonte, Larry Coryell, and many others, establishing himself as one of the most important Brazilian guitarists in the world. Chico Pinheiro, representing the younger generation, has performed with artists such as Placido Domingo, Kathleen Battle, Brad Mehldau, Dianne Reeves, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Chris Potter, and John Patitucci, consolidating his position as one of the leading contemporary jazz guitarists. The Two Brothers concert is a musical journey through the richness of Brazilian sounds – full of elegance, emotion, and a unique energy that has fascinated listeners all over the world for years.
