A star-studded concert will inaugurate the 20th edition of the International Silesian Guitar Autumn Festival in Tychy. The first part of the concert will begin with AUKSO – Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy, which will perform the Triptych for String Orchestra by Aleksander Tansman. This performance is part of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the death of the Polish composer, who dedicated a substantial portion of his oeuvre to the guitar. Next, guitarists Marcin Dylla (chairman of the jury of the XX Jan Edmund Jurkowski International Guitar Competition), Ewa Jabłczyńska, and Dariusz Kupiński, accompanied by AUKSO, will play the Concerto for 3 Guitars and String Orchestra. In the case of this second composition, it will be a world premiere performance. This piece was commissioned by the Festival organizer and written by the Spanish composer José María Sánchez-Verdú. It is worth noting that exactly 30 years ago, Marcin Dylla became the winner of the VI Jan Edmund Jurkowski International Guitar Competition in Tychy.

The piece Concerto for 3 Guitars and String Orchestra by José María Sánchez-Verdú, the premiere of which will take place on 17.10.2026 at the Mediateka in Tychy, was co-financed by funds from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage coming from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the “Composer Commissions” program implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.

In the second part of the concert, we will hear the leading Polish flamenco guitarist – Michał Czachowski, along with the band Indialucia. They will be accompanied by AUKSO – Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy under the baton of maestro Marek Moś. This is a unique artistic project that represents an unexpected and fascinating fusion of two musical worlds – flamenco and traditional Indian music. Although the combination of the sounds of Spanish Gypsies and Indian music might seem exotic, it takes on deep meaning when we recall the history of the Roma people, who arrived on the Iberian Peninsula precisely from India. The Indialucia project can therefore be perceived as a symbolic return to the roots – a musical meeting of cultures separated by centuries, yet connected at a common source. The band’s work evokes the atmosphere of the pioneering, revolutionary meetings of European and Asian musicians from the 1960s, delighting audiences with its vitality, virtuosity, and an extraordinary palette of colors and rhythms. It is a musical journey full of emotion, expression, and an energetic dialogue of cultures. Improvisation and rhythm – key elements of both traditions – give the music a live, dynamic character and open it to new influences. Indialucia’s sound is enriched with elements of jazz, and the performance itself features flamenco dance.
