The ensemble’s repertoire reflects both the human and musical encounter of these cultures, creating an intense and high-energy experience for the audience. Improvisation and rhythm—key elements of both traditions—give the music a vivid, dynamic character and open it up to new influences. Indialucia’s sound is also enriched by elements of jazz and virtuoso flamenco dance.
Since 2016, the ensemble has collaborated with chamber orchestras, exploring a new, ethnic dimension of classical music. During the Silesian Guitar Autumn, Indialucia will perform with the Aukso orchestra.
The band has performed in 36 countries across 4 continents, earning international acclaim from audiences.
Indialucia has released two award-winning albums—Indialucia and Acatao. Both won the title of second-best album of the year by Polish Radio, and Acatao reached the top positions of the World Music Charts Europe by the European Broadcasting Union. The band’s music was featured in the American movie The Boondock Saints II.
The artists have collaborated and recorded with musicians such as Trilok Gurtu, Carles Benavent, Jorge Pardo, Paquito González, L. Subramaniam, Purbayan Chatterjee, Leszek Możdżer, Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, and Kavita Krishnamurti.
